Introducing another of our talented Rummagers! ...

My name is Sarah Fallon and I live in the Redlands, south east of Brisbane. I graduated from the University of Queensland in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Film and Television (not the most vocational of degrees). I new I wanted to do something creative, I just didn't know what, so once I graduated I started playing. I'd always had an interest in jewellery making and so I eventually stumbled back into it. I looked at other peoples work, experimented with technique and style, and found something I really enjoyed doing. It's been about five months since I got started now and I'm really excited with how things are going. My other interests are illustration and writing.

You can contact Sarah for more information below, or drop in say and G'day at the Rummage!

Introducing one of our brand new Rummagers! ... check out her suitcase this Sunday for some recovered treats!

My mother taught me never to waist anything. If you have old apples you stew them, if you have stale crackers you put them in the oven to make them crisp. This waist not want not mentality then shifted to textiles. If you have a nice dress that doesn’t fit anymore…turn it into a top or…if you have old bed linen turn it into a laptop sleeve!

Needless to say all  Recovery items are handmade using recycled materials, making old into new. Most items are made from vintage bed linen that I have collected over time from op shops, some incorporate old scarfs and even old clothes that have been dismantled.

This Sunday will be my first Rummage, I will be selling laptop/ipad sleeves, charger cases, pencil cases and if I can manage to get it finished I will have a quilt cover for sale also.

I’m very excited to be a part of the rummage. Big thanks to the organiser’s of this easily accessible market .

Introducing one of our Rummagers - Hannah from ruby&lo!

Hi everyone, my name is Hannah and I make jewellery and fashion accessories under the name of ruby&lo. ruby&lo started off as a holiday hobby, and now that I've graduated from high school I can focus on growing my label full time.

I taught myself how to sew, and could spend all day choosing fabrics and coordinating lining to be made into pencil cases, clutches, pouches and coin purses. I aim to create unique yet practical items that can be given as gifts or kept for yourself. There is always something for everyone, and I create my products with every age group in mind.

I've been rummaging since March, and I love coming back each month to catch up with other regular stall holders and see returning customers, coming back for more! It is always so thrilling to see people wearing my jewellery or using my purses. Coming up to Christmas, I will be busy creating new products for Summer 2011/12, that will all make perfect (& affordable) Christmas gifts.

Thank you to everyone who continues to come out and support the local handmade artists! It means so much to me knowing that people are enjoying the products I love to create. See you at the next Rummage.
